DLO Offers Quick Drive-Thru Testing In Effort To Slow Spread Of COVID

The Diagnostic Lab of Oklahoma is answering the need for more COVID-19 testing during the current surge in cases. 

The patient is in and out in around 5 minutes with rapid results available within the hour. You don’t have to wait to hear back, you can stay at your testing site to receive your results. 

They serve 5 people at a time and they can see as many as 500 people a day. 

"We saw a lot of demand, a lot with the schools, parents with children in schools, they were having a hard time finding a place where they could get the child collected and tested," said DLO CEO R'Nee Mullen. 

Diagnostic Labs of Oklahoma just launched this testing back in August. 

"It's been actually very rewarding the response we have had to know that we are able to provide this service. You know test these kids that need to get back to school, people needing to get back to work," said Mullen. 

Mullen said at the peak they were seeing around 300 people a day. Now things have slowed down a bit. 

They offer two tests the PCR test which gives you results in 24 hours or the rapid antigen test that allows you to get results in less than an hour. 

Mullen said DLO was getting calls from providers and everyday people who were having trouble finding testing. 

Their goal is to help the community by providing an opportunity for early detection. 

Getting a test can also give peace of mind for anyone who may have been exposed. 

Plus, as more people travel and go to events some places are requiring negative COVID tests so DLO is helping fill that need as well.
