The Craig County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information after they said a teenager was attacked near Vinita High School.
They said the victim fought off the armed attacked but was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators said just before 10 p.m. Tuesday night, a teenager was attacked near 4390 Road and 250 Road. They said the teenager fought off the attacker, climbed a barbed-wire fence, ran into a field, and hid in the tall grass until help arrived.
Investigators say right now they have very little to go on and not enough information to point to a motive. Investigators are looking at surveillance video at churches and schools nearby but they say there’s very little video near where the attack happened.
The Sheriffs Office asks anyone with any information to call them at 918-256-6466.
