The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is hoping the public will be able to identify a man seen giving an 82-year-old woman a ride who is now missing.

OSBI said the man is not a suspect or a person of interest but may be able to provide information that could help with the investigation.

Investigators said Ruth Elizabeth Louie of New Lima, Oklahoma was reported missing Friday. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office issued a Silver Alert for Louie on February 6, 2021 and requested OSBI’s assistance with locating her.

Louie was last seen near the Highway 270 and Old Highway 270 intersection.

“It was totally unexpected, I was just in Oklahoma a week ago (and) I spent time with her,” said Marvin Battle, Louie’s grandson. “It’s not something you’d ever think would happen to a loved one. “

Battle said he drove to Oklahoma from South Dakota after learning his grandmother went missing.

The Highway 270 and Old Highway 270 intersection is a familiar spot.

“She walked on that highway a lot, this whole community, they know who she is,” said Battle. “I’ve been going to houses all day, passing out flyers and stuff. I was surprised, didn’t know that many people knew her.”

Adding to already big concerns are brutally cold temperatures.

“Please come forward, I’m begging you,” said Battle. “You’re the last person to see her. My whole family is asking to please come forward. Tell me if you might have dropped her off at a store, it is what it is.”

Community members anxious to help family in the search for Louie.

“I would give her the biggest hug if I seen her, I would be so happy if I could see my grandma right now,” said Battle.

Community members are gathering Wednesday to help Louie’s family search for her. Drones will be assisting in the search.

Contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov if you have any information about Louie’s whereabouts or if you can help OSBI identify the man pictured.
