News 9 is getting a clearer picture of how some Oklahomans plan to vote on Election Day.
It's the largest poll News 9 has ever done with nearly 5,500 Oklahomans being polled.
Numbers show 29% of Democrats polled are voting absentee versus 13% Republicans
But 80% of Republicans plan to vote in-person versus 58% of Democrats.
"I think there may be a mentality with Republicans that say, 'I don't trust that system; I want to see my ballot going into the box.' Democrats are saying 'I'm OK with absentee; send to it me, I'll fill it out and send it in,'” said SoonerPoll.com’s Bill Shapard.
In 2016, the Oklahoma State Election Board reported nearly 95,000 absentee ballots were sent out to voters.
For this general election, the reported number is more than 327,000.
