A Midwest City man was charged Thursday after police said he fatally shot his father.
Kurtis Raines-Haucke, 25, was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of pointing a firearm for the purpose of threatening and intimidating.
Raines-Haucke is accused of killing his father 57-year-old Karl Haucke.
Midwest City police responded to a call Feb. 5 when a woman claimed a man shot her husband and ran outside of their home with a gun. She identified the shooter as Raines-Haucke, according to court documents.
A day before the incident, Raines-Haucke saw a psychiatrist and “was given Seroquil as a medication to assist him,” according to the probable cause affidavit.
According to court documents, Raines-Haucke woke up at approximately 3 a.m. on Feb. 5 and “began acting irrational.”
Raines-Haucke’s mother told police she was trying to contact his doctor while his father kept an eye on him.
The two men went into another room when the mother said she heard her husband say ‘No’ before she heard two gunshots, according to the affidavit.
The woman told police Raines-Haucke “pointed the gun at his mother and brother before shooting a mirror and then emptying the remaining rounds into the ceiling.”
According to police, Raines-Haucke threw the gun on the ground and came back inside the family home before authorities arrived and arrested him.
