Both Thunderbird Casinos opened on Monday after being closed for a couple of months. But when guests arrive, they will notice some things have changed in order to keep people safe and healthy.

Before guests walk through the doors, they have to have their temperature checked and are required to wear a mask inside at all times.

Some guests said that they appreciate the safety measure the casino has in place.

But not everyone is allowed in at once, both Thunderbird casinos are only letting in about a third of the amount of people they normally can to ensure social distancing inside.

“We are allowing 275 people into the Norman casino and 125 people into the Shawnee casino,” said Sam Caruso, the general manager.

On top of that, table games aren’t being played right now and some machines have been shut off to spread out guests.

“We will probably have more machines turned off than others might have but we are trying to get to that six foot apart,” said Caruso.

This is all in an effort to get business going again but safe.

They have also changed their hours for right now so, they will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the first hour of everyday will be reserved for people 50 and over.
