NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Tropical Storm Fay has lumbered ashore in southwest Florida.
It made landfall at Cape Romano, just south of Naples, at 5 a.m. Eastern time, with top sustained winds of 60 miles per hour, well below hurricane-force.
Fay crossed the Florida Keys yesterday without causing major damage but could be a big rainmaker across Florida, with up to 10 inches possible in some areas.
The storm could also spawn tornadoes.
