Tahlequah Couple Jailed For Alleged Child Abuse

TAHLEQUAH, OK -- A Tahlequah couple is in the Cherokee County jail for allegedly breaking their two-month-old daughter's leg.

Amber Walker, 19, and 18-year-old Henry Carey are being held on child abuse counts. 

According to police, Walker and Carey were fighting over control of the child. 

Police say Walker was holding the child. Carey then allegedly tried to pull the child away by grabbing her legs, resulting in her leg breaking.

Officials say x-rays revealed the child had suffered injuries two other times.

The girl is currently in state custody.
