OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man was arrested after he fought with police and attempted to escape, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office reported.
According to the Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Jesse Samples was taken into custody on Monday. Police said two deputies went to a house located at 1120 S.W. 54th Street in Oklahoma City, to serve warrants related to burglary and drug charges for Samples.
Police said once the deputies arrived, they were directed to a shed in the backyard of the house, where three men were found inside. One of the men was identified as Samples.
Deputies attempted to place him in custody. Police said Samples struggled with the deputies, and the two other men inside the shed began to fight the deputies to help Samples escape.
The three were able to escape. However, Samples was located a short time later, hiding underneath a bed inside the house.
According to the police report, Samples refused to obey commands. An Oklahoma City Police officer and an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy tasered him to take him into custody.
Police said the deputies did not find the two other suspects who was in the shed with Samples. The men have not yet been identified. Both deputies were taken to the hospital due to injuries suffered in the fight.
According to Sheriff's Office, there will be additional charges for Samples related to this recent incident. Deputies also arrested Johnny Samples, Samples' brother, on a complaint of harboring a fugitive. Police said the brother was not one of the three people who got into the fight with the deputies.
