Hundreds Turnout To Protest Black Mass Held At OKC Civic Center

The much talked about Black Mass was held in downtown Oklahoma City Sunday night.

It was sold out event Sunday night at the Civic Center. There were Rock bands and rituals performed inside, much to the dismay of Christian protesters outside the theatre.

The Black mass kicked off with a three-member band; one guitarist wearing a "Metal Church" shirt. Then leader Adam Daniels, fully dressed in his black and red robe, came out. He introduced his wife and brought out his ceremony table and explained how the satanic ritual would work.

About 40 people attended, while earlier outside hundreds of Christians surrounded the Civic Center in protest. Many took buses from Kansas.

"Shocking to think that they worship the devil instead of god," said protester, Estefani Martinez.

But there was also a group in support of the Black Mass.

“Well it's freedom of religion in America right? We're all free to do what we want," said one supporter.

Daniels said one goal of the mass was to destroy the fear of the Catholic Church by mocking the items they use.

As of 10 pm. the Black Mass was actually still going on. News 9 is told an exorcism was about to take place.

In response to today's black mass, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City hosted a "Holy Hour" of prayer.

Hundreds of people turned out for the peaceful protest at Saint Francis of Assisi.  Some people even drove in from out of state to show their support.
