Neighbors said it was a wild scene Friday night in Sulphur when a suspect broke into a woman's home and held her and her boyfriend at gunpoint before ending the boyfriend's life.

The small city, 90 miles south of Oklahoma City, was rattled around 7 p.m. Friday. Police said a suspect forced his way into a woman's home on 13th Street. But she wasn't alone, neighbors said the woman's boyfriend, Randale Hokett, 40, was there and that the suspect Justin Smith, 35, was her ex-boyfriend.

Police said Smith kidnapped Hokett and the woman at gunpoint then drove them a few miles away to Veterans Lake inside the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. The peaceful place is where police said Smith killed Hokett.

"He shot one individual in the head, the male subject, and the female subject he raped, he took her to several different locations in both Garvin County and Murray County where he raped her," said OSBI spokesperson Jessica Brown.

Smith drove the woman back to her home so he could get his car, and left Hokett's dead body inside his truck along the road.

Smith took the woman to the Sulphur Police Department where he made her call 911.

It wasn't until five hours later that Smith gave up, drove nearly 60 miles to his home of Lindsay, and turned himself in to police.

Investigators said Smith's family actually encouraged him to turn himself in.

"Surprisingly he turned himself in the way he did when they found a pickup with the door locked and a man in it by himself, one could assume they might've thought he shot himself," said Sulphur resident Bill Rucker, who lives across the street from the woman at the heart of an alleged deadly love triangle.

"I've known her almost her whole life, she's a good person, she just got hooked up with the wrong one, they say he's a nut, I don't know him," Rucker said.

Smith was questioned, arrested and booked in the Garvin County Jail.
