With winds gusting close to 60 miles-per-hour on Wednesday, Doug Warner thought it was a perfect day for a wind experiment. If trash and garbage cans were flying around, why couldn't a bunch of balloons?
Warner had heard about a six-year-old Japanese student who launched a balloon with a message attached. Fifteen years later, supposedly, a fisherman found it stuck to a fish in the ocean, a hundred miles away.
Interested in the possibilities, Warner set out to conduct his own balloon-message experiment and enlisted some help along the way.
