An early morning apartment fire forced a northwest Oklahoma City mother to drop her baby out of a second-story window, fire officials said.
Fire officials believe the fire started in the kitchen of the family's apartment. Everyone got out of the home.
"Two of the kids came out the front door of the apartment and the fire was bad enough that the mother and younger baby went to the bedroom window and she dropped the baby to a neighbor downstairs and she jumped out the second story window down there where the neighbor was," Oklahoma City Fire District Chief Larry Rusher said.
The mother and her three children did go to the hospital to get checked out, officials said.
The fire is under investigation.
