OKLAHOMA CITY -- You may soon be able to turn your clunker in for cash and a new car. The U.S. Senate passed the measure that gives incentives to people who trade in gas guzzlers for more fuel efficient cars.
The incentives differ for cars and trucks, but trading up for better gas mileage could earn you up to $4,500.
Trade-ins can't be more than 25 years old. They have to be drivable and insured to the same owner for at least a year.
The President is expected to sign the measure, which could go into effect as early as August.
