My 2 Cents: Negative Media Coverage Of Soldiers Overseas

I got sick at my stomach today when I went to the Drudge Report on the Internet. Sickened by the headlines, that may be devastatingly true and a distortion of the truth at the same time.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- I got sick at my stomach today when I went to the Drudge Report on the Internet. Sickened by the headlines, that may be devastatingly true and a distortion of the truth at the same time.

Let me just read the headlines concerning alleged American atrocities in Afghanistan.:

"New Kill Team Photos Released" and that's from Rolling Stone. "Troops killed Afghan Civilians and tried to Cover," "US soldiers hacked off part of dead man's skull, "Cut off 15 year old boy's finger and kept as trophy," "Shocking Video shows US Troops cheering airstrike," and "Two on motorcycle gunned down"-- all of these stories occurred in Afghanistan.

Some in the media-- some-- just seem delighted whenever they can embarrass and endanger our military men and women.

I'm not saying they should ignore the misdeeds of a scant few of our fighting men and women, but to exploit them for political gain or even worse profit, is just abhorrent.

The Drudge Report clearly is exploiting the headlines for their shock value, Rolling Stone and the Guardian in the United Kingdom obviously want to derail our military effort in the Middle East.

Ultimately, our troops are serving with honor are the ones who'll pay the greatest price.
