OKLAHOMA CITY -- The pain at the pump gets worse. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now at $3.81.
In the metro, drivers are paying around $3.79 and the national average is now at $3.95. Senator Jim Inhofe shares his thoughts about the high prices.
"If we wanted to be energy independent, we could do it immediately just by opening up the east coast, the west coast, the Gulf, the Northern Slope and public lands to drilling," says Senator Inhofe.
Inhofe also says the Obama administration is trying to shut down the use of fossil fuels, but Inhofe believes we need to use a variety of energy resources like oil, gas, coal, renewables and wind.
