If Oregon State is on my television I always stop and watch. The Rogers boys are electric. Jacquizz may have the best highlight reel of any player in college football today. The tiny terror rushed for 1,440 yards last year and caught 78 passes for another 522 yards. And every play he doesnt get the ball, it seems to go to his brother James who is the Beavers go-to receiver. They combine with a veteran offensive line to give Mike Riley one of the most dangerous offenses in the Pac-10.

Theres a big problem, however. Who will play quarterback? It appears sophomore Ryan Katz will win the job. But he and every other QB on the Beavers roster is an unknown. If Katz can manage the offense and adequately deal the ball to Rogers and Rogers OSU may be in the Rose Bowl at seasons end. If not, they could go 6-6.

Defensively, Oregon State has to be more aggressive in 2010. Only 17 sacks and eight interceptions a year ago. Defensive tackle Stephen Paea is the reigning winner of the Morris Trophy given to the Pac-10s top defensive lineman. But hell need help. In the Beavers final two games of last season they gave up 37 and 44 points. Thats troubling.

Oregon State has a very intriguing schedule. They open in Arlington, Texas against TCU. Then in week three they play at Boise State. I think Rogers and Rogers will once again be a blast to watch in 2010, but they lose each of those two early season showdowns and suffer late-season setbacks at Stanford and to either USC or Oregon at home.

Prediction: 8-4
