OKLAHOMA CITY -- A new company is hoping its service will get drunk drivers and their vehicles off the roads in the metro area.

Starting Friday, people who've had a little too much to drink can call Safe Rides to pick them up.

The designated driver service is roughly around $10 more than a taxi ride would cost, but its drivers pick you up in your own car and take you home.

"It's a great convenience because they don't have to worry about the next morning--having to get up and go find their vehicle," Mark Myers, spokesman for Safe Rides said.  "It's a brand new service in Oklahoma City.  There are no other services like it in the state."

Safe Rides does background checks on all its drivers and would like to hire more.  The company can be contacted at 417-234-8995.
