NEW YORK -- Former Oklahoma running back, and current Minnesota Vikings star, Adrian Peterson was named the No. 3 player in the NFL, after votes were collected from other players in the league.
In his fifth season in the league, Peterson continued to put up top-tier numbers in most offensive categories. He was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl, after amassing 1,298 yards, the sixth-highest total in the league. Peterson also racked up 12 touchdowns, good enough for fourth in the league, while rushing for 86.5 yards per game and only fumbling once.
At third, Peterson ranked 10 spots higher than the next running back on the list, Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans who came in at 13. The only other Minnesota player to make the list was defensive end Jared Allen, who came in at No. 80.
