OKLAHOMA CITY – A Coca Cola employee stopped a suspect from getting away with vending machine cash by throwing something at the would-be robber's head.

At 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, two Coke employees were servicing a vending machine at a call center in the 7400 block of W. Memorial Road in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City police say while the two workers were doing their job, Dave Williams broke into their work vehicle.

When the employees returned to their vehicle, Williams surprised them and demanded the cash from the vending machine. The workers dropped the money bags and ran.

Police say Williams grabbed the bags and began to run away, but one of the Coke employees turned around and threw his scanner at Williams. The scanner hit Williams in the head causing him to drop the money bags.

Security guards caught up to Williams and held him until police arrived. Officers arrested him on a complaint of second-degree robbery.
