NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The premiere of the movie "The Wayman Tisdale Story" will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. at OU's Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
The film celebrates the life and legacy of three time All-American, NBA Star, Jazz musician and Tulsan, Wayman Tisdale.
The movie will feature interviews with Wayman Tisdale as he tells his own life story from childhood to his battle with cancer.
The "The Wayman Tisdale Story" also features interviews with Michael Jordan, Toby Keith, Marcus Miller, A.C. Green, Jonathan Butler, Steve McKeever, Billy Tubbs and the Tisdale family.
Wayman Tisdale passed away in 2009 after a two-year battle with cancer.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Scott Carter Foundation in Tulsa is sponsoring the premiere. Scott Carter died at the age of 13 by the same cancer that took Tisdale's life. To date, the Scott Carter Foundation has raised $1.7 million for Children's Cancer research.
