Quite a broohaha has erupted in a Tulsa neighborhood, after a family built a tree house for their six-year-old daughter in the front yard.
A neighbor wasn't happy about it, contacted the city of Tulsa and he sent the family a letter saying the tree house violated code.
The family says two city officials told them it was okay to do it without a permit because tree houses weren't addressed under any zoning code.
All that aside, would you want a tree house in your neighbor's front yard?
I wouldn't, if they built them like I did when I was a kid. Rickety old 2 x 4s nailed up the side of a tree to a ramshackle platform in the neighbor's front yard...nah.
Certainly could diminish my property value. But before you decide, take a look at this particular tree house.
This is one custom tree house, with a rich stain and tricky cuts on the frame. I'm an amateur wood worker, and this looks more like a party deck than a tree house.
So what do you say now…yay or nay on the tree house? You can e-mail or respond on my Facebook page.
