An officer with the Cushing Police Department was at the Wilson Pre-Kindergarden Center this Friday to teach the children about how to stay safe around strangers.

Officer Lucas Armenta spoke to all classes at the school individually to educate the students about being safe around people they don't know. Armenta also gave the children a Safety Pup coloring book and police badge stickers.

The promotion material is made possible by the people and businesses that support the police department through the National Child Safety Council, according to the police department.

"I would like to thank the Cushing Police Department for always being willing to assist our schools with student safety education," Principal Sally Wright said.
