Mid-America Christian University Men's Soccer players Brian Armstrong and Javier Hernandez have each earned a spot on the Capitol One Academic All-District VII team.

This award is voted on by CoSIDA members (College Sports Information Directors of America) and the requirements are the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, have appeared in at least 50 percent of the season's athletic contests and maintained at least a 3.4 grade-point-average.

Armstrong has scored one goal so far this season after scoring twice last year as a junior transfer from Rose State College. He has maintained a 3.88 GPA in Business Administration at MACU.

Hernandez has recorded two goals this season and is currently tied for second on the team with a pair of assists. He scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Bethany College (9/11/12) earlier this season. He is a Math major at MACU and has a 3.59 GPA.

Armstrong and Hernandez have been instrumental in helping the Evangels advance to the Sooner Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament for the first time since joining the NAIA. MACU is set to host John Brown University in the SAC quarterfinals Saturday (Nov. 3) at 2 p.m. at MACU Soccer Field.
