Landry Jones threw for 277 yards with two touchdowns, and the Oklahoma defense held the No. 1 passing offense in the country to just 172 passing yards as Oklahoma held off Baylor, 42-34.

The Sooners consistently pressured Baylor quarterback Nick Florence, who came in 377 yards per game through air, holding him to 12-for-33 passing and zero touchdowns. Florence did have an effective game on the ground, rushing 15 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, but his inability to hit receivers ultimately doomed Baylor.

Damien Williams ran for 99 yards and two touchdowns in his return to the Sooner lineup after sitting out last week with an ankle injury.

The Sooners got off to a great start, marching 75 yards on each of their first two drives, which both took up over five minutes on the clock. The first ended with a Brennan Clay five-yard touchdown reception from Jones, while Clay took the second on in himself on a one-yard touchdown run.

The wind, constantly whipping through the stadium at 25 miles per hour or more, played a big factor in the first half, helping Baylor kicker Aaron Jones blast a 58-yard field goal in the first quarter.

After a series of punts for both teams, Baylor was able to find the end zone on a five-yard Florence touchdown run to make the score 14-10 in favor of the Sooners. OU came right back down the field, going 70 yards in eight plays, capped by a Williams touchdown run to put OU back up by 11.

Baylor responded with a slow, methodical 17-play drive that ended in a Lache Seastrunk touchdown run, cutting the Sooners lead to 21-17 with less than a minute remaining in the half. Seastrunk ended the game with 91 yards on the ground on 15 carries, and three touchdowns.

Clay returned the ensuing kickoff 36 yards to the Baylor 45-yard line. From there, Jones hit Kenny Stills for 10 yards, and then went deep to Justin Brown for a 35-yard touchdown strike to make it 28-17 at halftime.

Baylor came out in the second half and quickly sliced the OU lead to two, thanks to two OU turnovers. The first, a Damien Williams fumble didn't translate into points, but a Landry Jones interception, returned by Mike Hicks to the OU 28-yard line, resulted in a Seastrunk touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed, and OU clung to a 28-26 lead.

The Sooners drove 75 plays in 12 plays, their third five-minute drive of the game, capped by a 17-yard Damien Williams touchdown run, to extend the lead to 35-26. After forcing a three-and-out on Baylor's next possession, Blake Bell rumbled 55 yards on 3rd and 1 from the OU 45-yard line for another touchdown that put OU up for good, 42-26.

Baylor scored a late touchdown and got the two-point conversion to make the score 42-34, but OU recovered the onside kick to end the game.

The Sooners travel to Morgantown next week to take on West Virginia, who, after turning into the national flavor of the week earlier in the season, has now lost four straight games.
