Just two days after eclipsing the 2,000 career point mark, senior guard Charlie Shorter has racked up his second Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor.

Shorter passed 2,000 career points mark with a 30 point outing Saturday (Feb. 16) at USAO. Shorter also pulled down eight rebounds and added to his SAC leading two steals per game with three thefts in the narrow loss to the Drovers.

The Dallas, Texas native also scored 11 points with two boards in a setback against No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday (Feb. 14).

Shorter averaged 20.5 with 5.0 rpg overall in the Evangels' two games this past week and leads the SAC with 21.1 ppg along with being tied for the conference lead in steals per game.

The 6-1 guard has also been an integral part of the Evangels' achieving their first-ever NAIA Top 25 national ranking this season, coming in at No. 23 in last week's poll.

Shorter and the Evangels will host No. 4-ranked and regular season conference champion John Brown University for Senior Night Thursday (Feb. 21) at 8 p.m. inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

The Evangels are currently in third place in the SAC with an 8-6 league mark, one game in front of the trio of Rogers State University, USAO and Lubbock Christian University.
