Five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson is in Moore Thursday to help out tornado victims.
Johnson along with his wife, Chandra, a native of Muskogee, and Oklahoma City based Feed The Children hosted a tornado relief event at Lowe's of Moore, to assist residents recovering from the recent tornado. On a first-come, first-serve basis, Johnson and Lowe's employees distributed a truckload of free nonperishable food, cleaning supplies and personal care items in partnership with Feed The Children.

The event is part of Lowe's pledge to donate $1 million to support tornado relief and rebuilding efforts. Lowe's matched Johnson's earnings from Sunday's NASCAR race and has donated nearly $650,000 to assist tornado victims.
Lowe's stores nationwide are accepting donations at every register, and donors also can contribute at Lowes.com. Locally, Lowe's Heroes employee volunteers have been delivering critically needed relief supplies and working with the First Response Team of America to assist residents since the tornado hit.
