Police say they now know the identity of a man accused of pleasuring himself in front of kids at a metro mall. They've even interviewed him but say they haven't arrested him.
A woman said she saw a guy playing with himself in the children's play area at the Sooner Mall in Norman.
"It's put a little bit of fear in me I think that I didn't have before," the woman said.
She wanted to hide her identity but shed light on what she saw at Sooner Mall.
"I'm a mom myself, and if somebody else saw something like this, I would hope they would do the same thing," she added.
The woman said she saw an elderly man playing with himself Monday morning while watching kids play in the indoor children's play area.
"I kept thinking maybe he's just adjusting himself, maybe he's just scratching himself," said the woman. "But no one adjusts themselves for that long. No one scratches like that!"
When she told security, the man left.
Norman police said they worked with mall security to quickly identify the suspect.
Detectives questioned him, but investigators haven't submitted formal charges to the District Attorney yet. They say this case remains on-going and active.
"Do I feel safe knowing that he can still go to the mall? No. I don't," said the woman. "Am I questioning whether I want to take my kids there? Definitely."
The woman warned other parents on Facebook, and her post was shared 5,000 times in less than two days.
"Stay off your phones. Be aware, not just of what you child is doing, but look at the people, wherever you are, look at the people around you," the woman warned.
The woman said security guards told her there were no cameras in the play area.
Now, if nothing else, she's on a mission to change that.
