Greer County Prison Escapee Captured In Texas

Officials say an inmate is back in custody after he escaped from a Greer County minimum security prison last Wednesday.

Officials say an inmate is back in custody after he escaped from a Greer County minimum security prison last Wednesday.

According to Greer County officials, 27-year-old Aaron Kelsey was reported missing on July 23 during the 8:30 p.m. roll call at the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite, Okla.

Officials say Kelsey was arrested Friday afternoon at a friend’s house in Denison, Texas, and he is being held in a jail there until he can be extradited back to Oklahoma.

Kelsey was serving a 10-year sentence out of Bryan County for burglary and gun-related charges, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
