OSBI Identifies Woman Whose Remains Were Found In Chickasha

Authorities have released the identity of a woman whose remains were found last Friday in Chickasha.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the human remains found near a creek in Chickasha are those of Elizabeth Alice Barnes.

Barnes' remains were found near 4th and Frisco along Line Creek by someone who was mowing grass in the area. Barnes' body was found in one area, and her head was found closer to the creek.

The Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine Barnes' cause of death. The Chickasha Police Department requested OSBI's help in the investigation of this suspicious death. 

Barnes lived in the Chickasha area for the past year, according to the OSBI.
