The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) released an update on road conditions Friday evening.
Although the snowfall has tapered off across much of the state, highway conditions in Oklahoma remain slick and hazardous in many areas, ODOT said.
With more precipitation expected overnight and into Saturday morning, ODOT said drivers should expect a change in road conditions.
Crews from ODOT said they continue to treat areas with salt and sand and are plowing as needed, especially in eastern Oklahoma. Icy patches still plague central portions of I-40 and some ramps remain slick along the central portion of I-35, transportation officials told News 9.
Roads in the Oklahoma City metro area were drying and became mostly clear with some areas of slush remaining that may freeze overnight, according to ODOT.
