The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) warned drivers near Norman of a speed limit change on I-35.
ODOT began its largest road project in the state on Monday near State Highway 9. All lanes remained open as the construction work began, but the speed limit was reduced because workers and equipment will be visible near the north and southbound I-35 off-ramps to eastbound State Highway 9 east and on State Highway 9 east at 24th Avenue S.W. in Norman.
ODOT said drivers should expect delays on I-35 during peak travel periods. Eventually, the construction work will force crews to narrow the interstate.

The $71 million project will take two months, adding four lanes to I-35 in that area.
