This week, the stock market has taken us on a roller coaster ride. After several consecutive days of losses, the market bounced back in a big way, posting its biggest two day gain since 2009.
Now, a local expert said just keep hanging on for the ride.
"What I tell my clients is look at your statements quarterly. Don't focus on the day to day and what your account is doing. Look at it quarterly and let’s analyze it annually. That way it will give you a good picture of what's going on in your portfolio," said Kristy Skidmore, Financial Advisor Central National Bank.
Skidmore also recommends only be conservative when you are close to retirement. Buy low, sell high. So when the market does drop, look to buy.
Also, if you only have a 401K, only watch the S&P 500.
