Police are on the hunt for a gunman after a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex on the southwest side of the metro, early Friday morning.
Officers were called out to a report of shots fired at the Southern Oaks apartment complex near S.W. 44th St. and Woodward Ave., just to the east of I-44, around 5:40 a.m.
Authorities told News 9 a man fired shots and injured at least one person. The victim apparently told his friends he was going to the store.
Residents said they heard a loud argument and several gunshots.
Friends found the victim lying in the courtyard of the complex.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in very critical condition. Just after 7 a.m. police say the victim died at the hospital. Police have now identified the victim as Mike Chau.
The only suspect information available at the moment is that the suspect was in a hoodie and jeans and may be a black male driving a burgundy-colored Cadillac or Oldsmobile car. No one is in custody at this time.
This marks the 25th murder in Oklahoma City this year.
