Goodbyes can be extended, and hellos can happen a little earlier, thanks to the visitor pass program at Tulsa International Airport.

"We're averaging right now about 300 people a week. It's a pretty good number. We're pleased with it because it gets people in and through the terminal, spending money on concessions and being able to spend some extra time with their loved ones as well," said Andrew Pierini with Tulsa International Airport.

The program has been active for about six months.

It lets you get through TSA security and spend time inside the airport terminals.

Andrew Pierini with Tulsa International Airport says it's a pretty easy process to sign up.

"You fill out a quick form, and it goes through TSA secure flight program, and if everything is approved, it sends you a QR code, and you can get through security and be on your way," he said.

He says you don't even have to be with someone flying to use the program, you can sign up to go inside the terminal to watch planes take off and land.

"We used to joke at first, if you want to have a date night at the airport, you can come through watch some airplanes, get some food and drink," he said.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Andrew says he expects more and more people to take advantage of the visitor pass.

"You do see a lot more people using it right now to greet people who are coming in for the holidays, so that's been a lot of the usage lately, and it's been great for people to welcome people or see them off on their travels," he said.
