There are big weather changes ahead for the holiday weekend. Your Friday will still be dangerously hot with highs in the 90s and heat index values ranging from 100 to 108.
There will be a chance for scattered showers and storms in northwest Oklahoma today. A few of these storms could be strong to severe this afternoon. Hail, wind, and flash flooding will be possible. Look for lows tonight in the 70s with a chance for scattered storms in the north.
A cold front is expected to move in Saturday, pushing into OKC in the early afternoon. Ahead of the front, look for dangerous heat! There will be a chance for scattered showers and storms off and on Saturday afternoon. A few storms could be severe with wind, hail and flooding possible.
The highest chance for rain will be Saturday night into Sunday morning when a line of storms develops. It will be much cooler behind the front Sunday with highs in the low 80s.
