Another group of Oklahoma's finest have returned home.
Soldiers with the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team arrived into Will Rogers Air National Guard Base at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5.
The troop received a lot of hugs and kisses from families and loved ones who haven't had their soldier home in 12 months.
Around 400 soldiers returned home last week. They are part of the nearly 3,000 soldiers who deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait last June.
Another group from the 45th is scheduled to return on Saturday, April 7. About 150 members are expected to arrive at the Army Aviation hanger at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Will Rogers ANG Base is located on SW 54th Street just west of Will Rogers World Airport.
Many family and friends will be there to welcome the returning troops and the general public is encouraged to attend, as well.
Nearly 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guardsmen from the 45th deployed to Afghanistan in June and an additional 800 Oklahoma Guardsman from the 45th deployed to Kuwait at the same time.
The group Saturday will be the final large group of Oklahoma National Guard Soldiers to return to Oklahoma following their deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait.
