OKLAHOMA CITY -- Their mission statement is "Cops Helping Kids Succeed," and they got a helping hand towards that goal Saturday morning. The Oklahoma City Police Athletic League was presented with a $50,000 donation Saturday during a soccer academy held at Rotary Park.

Because of PAL, more than 300 kids are learning basic soccer skills with an emphasis on character and teamwork during their fall soccer camp.

PAL is focused on reducing crime by providing alternatives to children from high risk neighborhoods.

Sergeant Tom Daugherty was on hand for the donation from Total Environment, Inc. Volunteers from Southeast High School and Edmond North High School were also present.

If your kids missed out on the fall academy, another is planned for this spring. Find out more about PAL.
