Abby Broyles joined the News 9 team as a general assignment reporter in September 2012. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, she's excited to call the "Sooner State" home once again. Broyles comes to KWTV from the CBS affiliate, KYTX, in Tyler, Texas. There she became well known for covering the courts and crime beat, but some of her most memorable reporting was covering the historic East Texas wildfires the summer of 2011. She also enjoyed her work at the anchor desk as a weekend morning anchor and producer.
Broyles is a familiar face to many at News 9, where she began her career in television news as an associate producer. During college, she interned at News 9, as well as KCBS/KCAL and KNBC in Los Angeles. Some of her favorite experiences in southern California were covering Lakers games with KCBS/KCAL, and working on KNBC's Sunday morning political news program. Broyles graduated cum laude from California Baptist University with a B.A. in journalism and political science.
In her free time, Broyles enjoys running, following her favorite sports teams, catching up with friends and family, and is always up for a good cup of coffee. She feels fortunate to have a job that allows her to walk in and out of people's lives each day to tell meaningful stories, and she hopes her reporting makes an impact on her fellow Oklahomans. You can see her stories during News 9's early evening newscasts. If you have a news tip or would just like to say hello, she would love to hear from you. You can contact her by email.
