Mid-America Christian University sophomore guard Jarius Wilson has been named to the Capitol One CoSIDA Academic All-District VII squad.

The award is voted on by members of the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and nominees must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.3 grade-point-average to qualify.

Wilson, a native of Duncanville, Texas, is maintaining a 3.53 GPA in Business Administration at MACU.

Though he is expected to miss the remainder of the season with an injury, Wilson appeared in 11 games with seven starting assignments at point guard this season for the Evangels. He scored a career-high 19 points and hit 3-of-5 from beyond the arc in a 75-65 victory over Johnson and Wales earlier this season.

For the season, Wilson is fifth on the team in scoring with 6.2 points per game along with 23 assists and 2.2 rebounds a game.
