Mid-America Christian senior guard Charlie Shorter has earned more accolades as he was named to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-Tournament team following the completion of the National Tournament in Winona Lake, Ind.

Shorter led the Evangels to a fifth-place finish at the tourney by averaging 26.7 points per game in the three contests. He scored 32 in a 101-89 loss to Shorter University and then 31 to pave the way for a 91-69 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College. He then tallied 17 points in the fifth-place game, a 74-68 win over Spring Arbor University.

The All-Tournament honor caps a truly memorable senior campaign for Shorter. He also took home the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year, NCCAA Central Regional Co-MVP and received the NCCAA National Player of the Year award at the conclusion of the Evangels' fifth-place victory Friday night (Mar.15). He also became just the fifth player in MACU history to eclipse 2,000 career points, finishing with 2,271 points.

The 6-1 native of Dallas, Texas led the SAC in scoring and ranks second in NAIA Division I with 23.4 ppg and also led the SAC with 2.1 steals per game.

Shorter and the Evangels wrapped up the 2012-13 season winning five of their last six games in the NCCAA Central Regional and NCCAA National Tournament, including four victories over NCAA Division II opponents.
