A 26-year-old Kingfisher man was arrested for possessing and distributing child pornography, in what is becoming a very successful, albeit disturbingly common, event for Guthrie Police and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.

Authorities arrested Christopher Shields at his home in Kingfisher, located at 1842 E. Robberts Ave., Thursday afternoon.

Shields' arrest was the result of a sting operation set up by an ICAC task force member with the Guthrie Police Department. The case was initiated and a warrant was issued after Shields distributed images depicting child pornography to that undercover Guthrie officer.

Members of the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, Kingfisher Police, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) also took part in serving the search warrant to Shields' home.

Several computer-related items were seized from the residence and were sent to the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit for a full forensic examination. There investigators will work to determine if any local children are pictured in any of the pornographic images.

Shields was booked in the Major County Jail for the charges of Possessing Child Pornography, Distributing Child Pornography, and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. Additional charges could be filed as well.

Shields was employed as a jailer at the Kingfisher County Jail.
