Authorities Search For Man Missing After Boat Crash On Lake Eufaula

On Friday morning, authorities continue to search for an Oklahoma City man who went missing following a boat crash on Lake Eufaula in McIntosh County Thursday night.

It happened just after 10 p.m. about one mile east of Eufaula Cove just north of Sherwood Point.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, two boats, a 2002 Crest Pontoon and a 1996 Stingray, were anchored together. Both were displaying proper lighting, when a ski boat crashed into the pontoon.

Troopers say the pontoon then landed on top of the Stingray.

There were ten people in the pontoon at the time of the crash. One man, 55-year-old Gary Mcininch, was thrown off the boat following the crash and has been missing since then.

Troopers say the driver of the boat that hit the pontoon drove back by to check on the other boaters. The boaters told the driver a man was missing, but as they searched, they realized the driver of the ski boat had taken off.

Two children, ages 7 and 6, were injured during the crash. They were transported to the hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

A Midwest City man, who was in the 1996 Stingray boat at the time of the crash, received knee injuries. No one else was injured.

The ski boat was described as white and dark colored, about 20-feet long.
