From floral design to pottery and painting, children and adults of all ages can enjoy affordable summer classes and camps at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond, located at 27 E. Edwards.

Enrollment is open for art related summer classes and camps at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond. Children and adults can sign up online or by calling 405-340-4481.

Each week from June 2-August 16, new classes will be offered in drawing, painting, cartooning, clay, theatre arts, jewelry design, collage, floral design, mixed media and more. Students can study famous artists, draw or act like super heroes and pirates, make clay creations and work in an art studio. Unique classes are offered for students who enjoy Mine Craft, the movie Frozen and drawing with live horses on a farm.

Three Little Artist camps, with coordinator Joy Baresel, are offered for preschoolers age three to six where they create paintings, collages, prints, 3-D art and perform as they rotate among four teachers in a fun environment. Baresel is also chairing two Art Escape camps focusing on a variety of visual art mediums for those entering first-grade through sixth-grade.

"Susan Scott, our incredible drama teacher, continues with Theatre Escape camp for young actors to hone their skills in improvisation, stage movement, makeup, mime, magic and more," Shannon Price, FAI's executive director, said. Theatre arts teachers and performers will work hands-on with the students.

For children who like the visual and performing arts, Create Escape camp is available and chaired by Susan Scott and Lisa Robinson. The Fine Arts Institute has a friendly atmosphere in a creative environment where children can learn and create art and perform.

New this summer, actress and entertainer, Stephanie Pena is teaching two Acting on Camera camps and a camp designed for pageant and audition techniques.

"Summer is a busy time at FAI," states Price. "It's exciting to expand our curriculum and offer new opportunities for students to enhance their visual and performing art skills."

Adult classes include: floral design, drawing, art studio, oil, watercolor, painting, jewelry design, palette knife painting, landscape painting and mixed media.

Summer classes are taught by: Arni Anderson, Jillian Bryant, Julie Atyia, Joy Baresel, Lacee Bilke, Leenzee Bilke, John Campbell, Stephanie Carel, Mary Beth Greer, Tim Haller, Jennifer Hustis, Gary Lennon, Stephanie Pena, Suzanne Randall, Sondra Reid, Susan Scott, Lisa Robinson, Thomas Stotts, Andrea Wijkowski and Michelle Wiser.
