New numbers reveal Oklahoma's unemployment rates are on the rise.
New data from the U.S. Labor Department shows unemployment in Oklahoma City grew by 1.2 percent over the past year. That's the fastest growing unemployment rate among top metropolitan areas in the nation.
OKC’s unemployment rate stands at 4.7-percent. Tulsa’s is 5.6-percent. The national unemployment rate currently stands at 4.8-percent.
“Even at the numbers today we are still extreme competitive with most of the country,” said OKC Chamber Exec. VP Kurt Foreman.
