UPDATE: Broken Arrow Police say a problem of their officers unable to talk with Tulsa Police officers during Friday morning's incident was a glitch in one radio dispatcher console and has been resolved.

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- Broken Arrow Police and Tulsa Police are searching for two men after an early morning chase that started in Broken Arrow and ended in East Tulsa in a fiery wreck.

Broken Arrow says the chase started just before 3 a.m. at an apartment complex at 12th and Omaha in Broken Arrow.

The chase went through several Broken Arrow and Tulsa neighborhoods before ending in a field on 41st Street South.

The pickup truck hit a tree and burst into flames.  The two men inside got out and ran away.

The incident began while an officer was patrolling the apartment complex because of several car burglaries over the summer.

The officer spotted a man attempting to break into a car and the chase began.

"It appeared that he was going to break into that vehicle. When he observed me, he jumped back into his vehicle and drove away from me as I tried to initiate a vehicle contact," said Broken Arrow Police Sgt. Klingenberg.

Tulsa Fire was dispatched to extinguish the fire which destroyed the pickup truck.

Broken Arrow Police say they switched to a new radio system last week and they could hear Tulsa Police, but could not talk to them as the chase entered Tulsa city limits.

Police say the pickup truck belongs to someone with a Catoosa address, but was not reported stolen.
