A teenager accused of killing a beloved convenience store clerk in Midwest City over the summer, was in court Friday for his preliminary hearing.

Samuel Myers,17, was a former student at Star Spencer High School, and now he stands accused of first-degree murder and robbery.

Members of Samuel Myers’ family were inside the courtroom and so were two friends of the victim.

The murder of Salman Tahir back on September 17, sent shockwaves through the community, especially among those who visited the G.I. Market convenience store on N.E. 10th in Midwest City where he was a clerk.

Tahir was shot in the back during an early morning robbery, and it was all caught on the store surveillance cameras.

Friday, several members of the Midwest City police force testified about the evidence they found at the crime scene and what led them to arrest 17-year-old Samuel Myers.

Also, two of Samuel Myers friends testified. They were with him the day of the robbery.

The judge determined there was enough evidence against Myers and ruled he will stand trial for the murder.
