Justin Rudicel

At the young age of five years old, Justin was hooked on weather as this Hoosier experienced all kinds of big weather events growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Justin received a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology and climatology from Ball State University. In December 2007, he accepted his first job in Lawton, Oklahoma as the weekend meteorologist at the ABC affiliate KWSO. During his time in Southwest Oklahoma, he was promoted to weekday mornings in 2008 and then in 2011, KSWO promoted him to chief meteorologist. Justin is also recognized by the National Weather Association and earned their seal of approval.

Weather and forecasting have always been passion and hobby of Justin. He thrives on the challenges of the unknown and the quick changing aspects of severe weather. That is what brought him out to tornado alley for his first job, and why Justin is excited to be part of the News 9 weather team.

Justin loves most sports with his favorite team being the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, he is a huge Indy Car fan and has attended the Indianapolis 500 18 times. When he's not in the weather center, he spends time with his wife, Laura, and their dog, Chanel. They enjoy being active and outdoors, snapping photographs, working out, cooking, traveling and of course, storm chasing.

You can find Justin on Facebook as well as Twitter (Chasingthemeso). He wants to hear your weather stories and view your weather pictures!
