Twenty-five dogs rescued from a filthy Oklahoma City home will not be available for adoption on Thursday, as originally planned, because some of them are showing signs of illness.
According to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, two of the 25 rescued dogs were showing signs of illness. So officials decided to quarantine and care for all the dogs for about two weeks, before they place them up for adoption.
Animal Welfare said officers found the dogs on Monday living in filthy conditions inside and outside a home on N.W. 6th Street.

Animal Welfare Superintendent Julie Bank said the dogs will be given much-needed baths, checked out medically, and spayed and neutered.
Even though these dogs won't be up for adoption on Thursday, Banks said there are many other small dogs waiting to find homes at the OKC animal shelter.
Officials said they will be updating the shelter's Facebook page.
