Friends, family and students packed a metro church to remember a John Marshall Mid-High student killed last week in a car accident. The incident played out in front of stunned classmates.

His family is remembering the last few moments they had with him.
“In that car there were three of us. Three,” his best friend Keyshawn Shells said. “Now, there are two of us here.”
Shells spoke for nearly an hour remembering memory after memory. CJ's absence was still settling in.
“I say it every morning when I wake up, ‘Why?'” he said. “Where is my brother?”
Some family members just couldn't hold it together. CJ's presence was everywhere.
His mother was guided in by loved ones for the service. The People's Church Sanctuary was packed, and there was standing room only. It was an outward expression of the inward touch CJ's short time here had on others.
A scholarship has been named after CJ Davis and will be awarded starting this year.
Last year News 9 featured Davis in our "Beyond the Bell" series about the high hopes he had to go to college one day.
